Orestis Dimitriadis – 19 December 2026

After beginning his musical training in Thessaloniki, Greece, Orestis continued his studies at the Nice Conservatoire with Stephanos Thomopoulos and at the Utrecht Conservatoire with Martyn van den Hoek, where he obtained his Bachelor’s degree with honours. Orestis is now based in Naarden and gives solo and chamber music concerts throughout the Netherlands and beyond.

At BIJ ANDREAS, Orestis will perform works by J. S. Bach, F. Mendelssohn, F. Schubert and E. Granados.

Alexandra Kaptein – 22 November 2026

Concert pianist and teacher Alexandra Kaptein has a deep affinity for the German Romantic repertoire — in particular the works of Franz Liszt and Robert Schumann. She is renowned for her analytical and expressive interpretations. Following her debut album Liszt Transcriptions (2024), she recorded her second album in 2026, dedicated to the music of Liszt, which is due to be released in October this year. Her third album, featuring music by Schumann, is due to be released in early 2027.

In February 2025, Alexandra performed works by Hayden, Liszt, Ryabov and Brahms at BIJ ANDREAS. She will return in November with the following programme:

Alexander Kashpurin – 23 October 2026

Alexander recently won first prize at the 2026 Liszt Competition in Utrecht. The jury commented:

“Alexander Kashpurin has a completely unique perspective on everything he touches. He is someone you want to listen to time and time again. He plays the music as if he had written it himself and blows you away when he plays. Spiritual and fragile, with sensitive senses with which he creates true magic. It was moving to see someone so deeply in love with the music.”

On 23 October 2026, Alexander will return to BIJ ANDREAS to perform Liszt’s Transcendental Études.

Alexander Jansen

Alexander Jansen (2005) began his piano lessons when he was 7 years old and was admitted to the young talent program of the Utrecht Conservatory at the age of 11, with pianist/composer Thomas Beijer, among others. Since 2021, he also studies at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp with Prof. Sergei Edelmann (3rd year bachelor). In addition, he studies piano and composition at both the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and the Conservatory of Antwerp, with Frank van de Laar and composer Willem Jeths, among others. In March 2022, he was selected by Lang Lang for the Lang Lang Scholarship. In August 2025, he won the first prize of the International Clara & Robert Schumann Competition in Düsseldorf.

At this recital at BIJ ANDREAS, Alexander will perform Schumann’s 2nd Piano Sonata and a Polonaise and Ballade by Chopin, as well as two of his own works: Scherzo: Les chats extraordinaires and Rapsodia de los Vientos del Sur. A recital to look forward to!

Ivan Petrenko

Ivan Petrenko (Ukraine, 2008) studied at the Kyiv State Music Lyceum, the Davidsbündler Music Academy in The Hague, and since 2025 at Codarts Rotterdam with Nino Gvetadze. He has won several prizes and performed several times at the Concertgebouw during the Davidsbündler Festival. He has performed at the Chopin Festival Leiden, Young Virtuosos Ljubljana, and with Vere Music Hub Kyiv, among others. As a soloist, he has appeared with the Britten Youth Orchestra, the Amsterdam Mendelssohn Chamber Orchestra, and the Kyiv Camerata, among others.
Ivan comes to BIJ ANDREAS with a highly varied program covering the entire period from Bach to Shostakovich and Levko Revoetsky. The latter is less well-known in the Netherlands, but he is considered, along with Borys Lyatosjynsky, the greatest Ukrainian composer of the twentieth century. Ivan plays two of his preludes.

Piano talent on Sunday: Students from Codarts Rotterdam

It has become a tradition to give ample opportunity to the talent of one of the Dutch conservatories at least once a season. This time, we’ve invited students from Codarts Rotterdam, not least because artistic director Nino Gvetadze teaches there. Expect another parade of young pianists, recent or not, who, just before the holidays, will join forces to create a warm and unforgettable afternoon.

Program

This year, you can expect a parade of Preludes. Bach, Shostakovich, and Rachmaninoff immediately come to mind, of course, but you can also listen to Gershwin, Scriabin, Debussy, Auerbach, Chopin, and Revutsky.

The pianists performing this year are:
Junqiao Zhu, Ivana Maznejkova, Mauro Goossen, Eran Hyman, Marianne Hansen, Chenchen Li, Zoe Kapsyli, Irene Martínez, Jurre van Egteren, Laura Aguilera, Mar Sánchez-Domènech and Pedro Teixeira.

This concert has an intermission and lasts until approximately 6:00 PM.
