Ivan Petrenko (Ukraine, 2008) studied at the Kyiv State Music Lyceum, the Davidsbündler Music Academy in The Hague, and since 2025 at Codarts Rotterdam with Nino Gvetadze. He has won several prizes and performed several times at the Concertgebouw during the Davidsbündler Festival. He has performed at the Chopin Festival Leiden, Young Virtuosos Ljubljana, and with Vere Music Hub Kyiv, among others. As a soloist, he has appeared with the Britten Youth Orchestra, the Amsterdam Mendelssohn Chamber Orchestra, and the Kyiv Camerata, among others.
Ivan comes to BIJ ANDREAS with a highly varied program covering the entire period from Bach to Shostakovich and Levko Revoetsky. The latter is less well-known in the Netherlands, but he is considered, along with Borys Lyatosjynsky, the greatest Ukrainian composer of the twentieth century. Ivan plays two of his preludes.
