Alexander Jansen (2005) began his piano lessons when he was 7 years old and was admitted to the young talent program of the Utrecht Conservatory at the age of 11, with pianist/composer Thomas Beijer, among others. Since 2021, he also studies at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp with Prof. Sergei Edelmann (3rd year bachelor). In addition, he studies piano and composition at both the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and the Conservatory of Antwerp, with Frank van de Laar and composer Willem Jeths, among others. In March 2022, he was selected by Lang Lang for the Lang Lang Scholarship. In August 2025, he won the first prize of the International Clara & Robert Schumann Competition in Düsseldorf.
At this recital at BIJ ANDREAS, Alexander will perform Schumann’s 2nd Piano Sonata and a Polonaise and Ballade by Chopin, as well as two of his own works: Scherzo: Les chats extraordinaires and Rapsodia de los Vientos del Sur. A recital to look forward to!
