Maya Fridman & Oleg Lysenko

Benefit concert Stichting Kinderen in Nood

Two renowned musicians will give a benefit concert on Friday, June 27th, in support of the Stichting Kinderen in Nood (Children in Need Foundation). Russian-born cellist Maya Fridman and Ukrainian-born bayanist/accordionist Oleg Lysenko have both lived and worked in the Netherlands for many years. For this concert, the Children in Need Foundation is collaborating with Music for Ukraine, the foundation founded by Lysenko.

Proceeds from the benefit concerts are used to purchase second-hand ambulances, which volunteers drive to hospitals in Ukraine and donate on-site. So far, 13 ambulances have made their way there—this concert aims to help fund number 14.

Admission is free, but a donation toward the purchase of an ambulance is expected.

Maya Fridman, a cum laude graduate of the Conservatory of Amsterdam, is an active performer and a passionate advocate for humanitarian support to Ukraine. She is featured in the documentary United We Stand: Musicians in Times of War.

Oleg Lysenko is a professional Ukrainian bayanist who trained at the Kyiv Conservatory. He has long been based in the Netherlands and organizes benefit concerts through his ANBI-certified foundation Music for Ukraine.
