The first concert of this autumn will be given by the young Spanish pianist Miguel Iglesias Lista. He started playing the piano at the age of 7 and, after completing his studies in Spain with distinction, he is now studying with Frank van der Laar at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. He has won prizes at various competitions and reached the semi-finals of the Queen Elizabeth Competition this summer.
Central to this programme are Beethoven’s Third Sonata, dedicated to Haydn, and Schumann’s Symphonic Etudes. The concert will open with Bach’s Prelude and Fugue and close with the two-part Fourth Sonata, written by Scriabin in 1903.
