Magdalene Ho

Magdalene Ho (2003) was born in Malaysia. She started playing the piano at the age of 4, moved to England at the age of 9 for her lessons and is currently studying with Dmitry Alexeev at the Royal College of Music. Just before her 20th birthday, she won the Clara Haskil International Piano Competition, which gave her career a flying start. And an invitation to the Discovery Concerts of the Naarden International Piano Festival 2024. This afternoon she will play variations by Brahms, funeral music by Orlando Gibbons (1583-1625) and Schubert’s Sonata in G, D894 from 1826, according to Schumann the ‘most perfect in form and conception’ of Schubert’s piano sonatas. On Wednesday 22 January, Magdalene will perform part of this programme as a lunch concert in the Kleine Zaal of the Concertgebouw.
