A real double bill at the opening of this series. Dirk Luijmes is a specialist in playing a relatively unknown keyboard instrument: the harmonium. He brings his instrument with him and introduces you to the special sound in music by Liszt and Wagner, among others.
After the sudden death of pianist Folke Nauta, our programmer Bart van de Roer takes over the second part of this program. As a soloist he plays music by Haydn, among others, and together with Dirk Luijmes on harmonium he plays music by Saint-Saëns and Franck.
You hear among others |
Wagner – Vorspiel Tristan und Isolde (harmonium) |
Liszt – Prelude and fugue on the name BACH (harmonium) |
Haydn – Sonata in A flat major, Hob XV!:46 (piano) |
Franck – Prélude, fugue et variations (piano and harmonium) |
