Earlier this year, Damiën Heemskerk was a guest at the Naarden International Piano Festival as a Young Master and played the stars from the sky. In the Pianotalent op Zondag series, he will show on October 20 that he is not only an excellent pianist but also a composer: he will play the three ‘Love Impressions’ of his own composition. You can also enjoy nocturnes by Satie and Chopin and he will conclude the concert with the Sonata op.35 in B flat by Chopin. The third movement of this work, written in 1839 while Chopin was staying at the home of the writer George Sand, is the famous Marche funèbre, to this day one of Chopin’s best-known works.
