His previous teachers include Mila Baslawskaja, Ivan Penkov, and Maaike Eijkman. In 2023, he won the national first prize at the Princess Christina Competition. Aar\u00f3n Ormaza Vera has previously been a guest at BIJ ANDREAS, including in the Discovery concerts of the 2024 Naarden International Piano Festival.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Thijs will play Chopin&#8217;s <em>Ballade nr. 4<\/em> and Rachmaninov&#8217;s fourth <em>Moment musicaux<\/em>, among others. He has also included two Dutch composers in his program. He opens the concert with three of the <em>Six Preludes for Piano<\/em> by Henri\u00ebtte Bosmans, the first of her own pieces that the pianist and composer played in the Kleinze Zaal of the Concertgebouw in 1918. In addition, Thijs van Joey Roukens will play <em>Roaming Empty Streets<\/em>, written for Ralph van Raat in 2020. Aar\u00f3n has put together a programme with pieces for the left hand of Saint-Sa\u00ebns, Alexander Scriabin, Jurriaan Andriessen and the composer, conductor and pianist Cor de Groot, who died in 1993.
